We help individuals with disabilities maintain their independence to live a quality life.

SIILC provides IL skills training including Orientation and Mobility Training for individuals with significant visual impairments and other consumers to assist them with the skills necessary to conduct everyday tasks independently, such as public transportation, shopping, budgeting, meal preparation, nutrition, and more.

For those with visual impairments, we provide access to assistive devices to maximize their independence. These devices include:

  • Talking alarm clocks
  • Talking watches
  • Talking calendars
  • Pill bottle magnifiers
  • Talking scales
  • Hand-held magnifiers
  • Color identifiers
  • CCTV
  • And more

In collaboration with the IL Center in Richmond, SIILC provides appropriate services for the visually impaired aged 55 and older. We provide access and resources to assistive devices to help these individuals perform essential daily tasks.
